First Baptist Church Ministries

Our Children's Ministry

Every Sunday morning at 9:45 AM FBC offers Sunday School classes for everyone age 4 and older. These classes are comprehensively designed so that a child who attends faithfully throughout their elementary years will be taught through the entire Bible.

Every Sunday morning at 11 AM FBC worships together in song at a combined opening to our morning service. After the singing, children age 4 - grade 6 are dismissed with their teachers to "Children's Church" where they enjoy a few more children's songs, a Bible Story, Bible-themed games and occasionally a craft time. After the main worship service is completed, the children are dismissed to their parents.

On Monday evenings (6:30-8:00 PM) during the school year, FBC offers an AWANA program for age 4 - grade 6 at the church. Kids, please make your plans to join us, and parents please feel free to let us know if you any have questions!

We are also gearing up to go to Junior Camp (grades 3 - 7) at Camp Northwest during the week of July 12-17, 2010. Please be praying about how you can help our kids go to camp this summer or, if you are a "real, live junior camper," please mark your calendars today!

Our Teen Ministry

Pastor Steve heads up the FBC youth group and makes sure that all our activities are fun, crazy and at the same time spiritually encouraging! Every Sunday morning, the youth group (grades 7-12) meets for Sunday School at 9:45 AM and then joins the main worship service at 11 AM.

The college and career group also meets for a Sunday School class and study under Bert Sheridan in the Conference Room.

On Wednesdays at 7 PM, the youth group (grade 7 - college age) meets for a Bible Study program designed especially for them. Big group games and fun competitions also happen on Wednesday nights during youth group. It's not a night to miss!

At least once a month, Pastor Steve organizes a special activity for the whole youth group. Over the past few months among other things, we've gone on a teen retreat at Camp Eatonville, enjoyed hiking, had a huge scavenger hunt, gone to the park for ultimate frisbee, ministered with Christmas caroling, enjoyed lots of great food and much more!

On Thursday evenings this Spring at 6:30 PM, the youth group guys are invited to attend soul-winning visitation (meet at church) and the youth group girls are invited to the Pabody's house for Part II of the Bible study ("What does Proverbs say about femininity?")

The teens (grades 7 - 12) are also gearing up to go to Teen Camp at Camp Northwest during the week of August 16-21, 2010. Please be praying about how you can help our teens go to camp this summer or, if you ARE a teen, mark your calendars today!

Our Ladies' Ministry

The Women for Missions is an active part of the ministry at FBC. They meet regularly to coordinate practical projects to help our sizeable missionary family and to enjoy sweet fellowship together.

The ladies have just finished meeting with Mrs. Coursen every Sunday morning from 9:45 - 10:45AM for a special fall quarter Sunday School class. The class was a great blessing! For the Spring quarter, the adult classes will be dividing up into the HomeBuilders Class under Marlin Miller and Bob Royal (in the upper room) and Pastor Coursen's Class (in the auditorium). You can join us for the first meeting of these classes on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 9:45 AM! Just call the church if you need more information.

The FBC ladies enjoy a Spring ladies retreat every year. In 2009 they attended a second retreat in Eatonville, WA on September 18-19 where Mrs. Coursen spoke. It was a special event for our ladies!

Our Men's Ministry

One Saturday morning each month, the men of FBC gather for prayer and (delicious!) breakfast. Often they stay for a church workday and extended fellowship.

Once a year, the men enjoy a spiritual retreat.

Right now, they are meeting with Pastor Coursen every Sunday morning from 9:45 - 10:45AM for a men's fall quarter Sunday School class (upstairs in the fellowship hall).

On October 30-31, 2009, the married couples of FBC also enjoyed an additional retreat with Pastor and Mrs. Guy Altizer from Greenville, SC.

This Spring FBC will be offering limited enrollment in The Way of the Master Soulwinning class on Thursday evenings. Please contact the church office for more information, or watch the Sunday announcements for sign-up information.
